Throughout March we will be sharing lots of information about Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC), and launching an impactful campaign called ‘EVERY’ on our social media channels. Follow us on Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram and LinkedIn and share our posts including #SUDCAwareness.

The 18th of March is National Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood Day and on this day you can help in any of 3 ways:

1) Share our socials, wear SUDC items, contact your MP or complete acts of kindness to lend support and raise awareness.

2) Join a free webinar on SUDC at 1pm to learn about the facts, family stories, research and our recommendations for care and resources.

3) Shine light – light a candle in support of families and their children at 6pm or light up a local landmark.

See below for more information and all you need to help us make a big impact together – thank you!!

#SUDCAwareness

Shine a light on SUDC

Ask a local landmark in your community to light up blue on Tuesday 18th March to raise crucial awareness of SUDC on our national awareness day.

Consider lighting up your home in our charity colours to remember all of our beautiful children who are dearly missed. Post your photos on social media and don’t forget to tag us #nationalsudcday

Please see our ‘What We Do, What We Want‘ document to help with your request. Tell your story, share what SUDC is and our important mission for research, awareness and support.

Donate

SUDC UK currently receives no government funding. All of the work it does is supported through private donations, corporate philanthropy and revenue generated by fundraising events and initiatives. Thank you! We are so grateful for your support.

Your donations really do make a difference.

£1.80 – could send a card to a family on their child’s birthday to show they are cared for and their child is remembered.

£18 – could provide guidance and resources to a family to help a brother or sister cope at school after their loss.

£180 – could fund a family to register with SUDC UK and receive ongoing advice, support and understanding for 3 months.

£1,800 – could fund an SUDC UK family day, providing comfort by bringing together children and adults who share similar experiences.

£18,000 – could fund life saving research. Helping us to understand how to make SUDC predictable and preventable.
