Sanjay Sisodiya is Professor of Neurology at UCL Institute of Neurology and Honorary Consultant Neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and the Epilepsy Society. His key interests are in epilepsy, including its causes, pathology, phenotypes, outcomes and treatments. He was chair of the Association of British Neurologist Epilepsy Advisory Group from 2015-2021, providing national guidance on issues such as medicinal cannabis and valproate usage in women of childbearing age.

In 2021, he was appointed to the posts of Deputy Director for Sustainability and Climate Change at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, and Chair of the International League Against Epilepsy Climate Change Commission. He is actively researching sudden death in epilepsy in adults.
